Thanks for playing 'Pink'. Another quick game emphasizing technical practice with Flash. This time, we were all assigned a random color, and had a create a game thematically related to that color. In addition, the game needed to produce a win or lose outcome in 5 seconds.
The driving concept behind Pink was that the geek is too shy too ask the artist out. So, within 5 seconds, if the player pushes in 3 hearts (confidence) into the geek, he succesfully asks her out. If at any time the player pushes a banana into the geek, the player automatically loses. If the player does not help the geek gain enough confidence, it's also an automatic loss (not enough confidence = rejection!).
Thematically, blush is pink. Puppy-love is pink. The first heart makes the geek 'glow' with confidence. Pink is a simply cute and innocent color. Bananas were drawn in lieu to match the aura of pink.
Though it's a simple game with only a few seconds of gameplay, there is also a social comment through the possible win/lose endings which I'm sure doesn't need to be explicitly addressed.
All the color games intend to be integrated into a larger Rainbow Game.
